Ice Age - Dead Kings

Ice Age is a band from my home town of Smithtown NY. They have members from Backup Plan, This is Hell, and Subterfuge. Backup Plan was one of my favorite bands from the late 90s and early 2000s. So when I heard that both Jeff and Chris were involved in this band, I just knew for sure it would be great. Another interesting thing about this band was Rick was playing guitar. And back around the same time he played guitar in another great local band called Her Last Words. He plays guitar in This is Hell, but that's a newer band. Ice Age is like a 10 year old match made in heaven.

Think Fast! Records , the same label that put out This is Hell's album Weight of the World, just released Ice Age's full length called Dead Kings. I think this is their first release. Maybe they did a demo, but I'm not really sure. Chris(drummer) is an old friend of mine from when he played in another local band named Anterrabae. I saw him back in march at a bar and he told me he was doing this band, but I didn't really research till I heard they were putting out the full length on Think Fast. So as soon as it went up for pre-order, I was on top of it. One cool thing about Think Fast is their prices are usually incredible. I mean where else can you get a brand new piece of colored vinyl for 8 bucks? It's really obvious that these guys just love putting out music, and the money is really not that important. Get the music out, get your money back, maybe make a couple of bucks if you're lucky, but really just support and do what you love. Now that's what it's really all about. So the record came in the other day and it's looking great.

One awesome thing about this release is if you pre-ordered it, it came with a silk screened print #ed and signed by the screener. The photo on this print was done by a friend of mine Wendi Schoenfeld. A talented photographer, that unfortunately happens to be a mets fan...hey, we're not all perfect.

The other color Think Fast pressed was a 50/50 black and red. You know these types of color pressings usually cost a lot, and that just makes the 8$ price tag even more amazing.

If you want to pick up this release you can do so in the Think Fast webstore. I suggest you give it a shot.

A Lot of Danzig

So about 2 weeks ago there was this lot of 5 Danzig shirts on ebay. It really didn't give that great of a description of each shirt, so I figured I'd put in a decent bid and if I grabbed it cool. Truthfully I wasn't that crazy about the lot cause they were 3 XL T-Shirts and 2 XL long sleeves. I can wear the long sleeves, but not the T-Shirts. I did think I could give my brother one for his birthday, cause he wears XL, which was a good bonus. So I dropped a bid in of like 70 bucks and wouldn't you know it, I won it for $32! Sweet deal, but I didn't know exactly how sweet it was.....feel that anticipation? Yeah it's awesome. OK let's take a look shall we?

I'll go in order from least to greatest. First let's start out with this circle of snakes T-Shirt. Now when I looked at the picture of the lot, I actually thought this was one of the long sleeve shirts. So I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and saw that it was a T-Shirt. Why? Cause it isn't too great of a shirt. Maybe I'll wear it to sleep in or something.

Next up I'll go with another T-Shirt. This one I knew about. I wasn't exactly sure what was written on the back, but I knew the era. 1996. And that's the only reason I put it second on this list and not first. Cause it's older.

Shirt numero 3. This one is also unwearable cause of the 3/4 sleeves, but still cool, and semi rare. I actually saw this shirt go for like 35 a few weeks ago. Turns out the seller considered this one of the long sleeve shirts...damn, that sucked.

The second best shirt of the lot, or what I will call number 4, is actually a shirt I already have. It's the Satan's Child tour long sleeve from 99. But I have it in Large, and with a long sleeve shirt, I usually wear XL. But lately I've been losing weight. In fact I haven't weighed this little since high school. So the large fit decently, but I was still excited for the XL cause you never know with XL long sleeves. They could be huge, or they could be a little bigger than the large. Well this one was perfect! I think I would have paid 32 bucks just for this shirt.

And the last shirt, the one I gave to Tom, was easily the best shirt of the bunch. Not only was it the oldest, but also the most legit. This is the classic Danzig Skull tee licensed by Brockum. They did this particular one in 1994. In 1995 they also did this same shirt, but the Danzig on the back was written in red. That's the last time Brockum did a Danzig shirt. This shirt, in this condition which happens to be great, could probably bring 35-40 bucks.

So all in all I got a great deal on this lot. For 42 bucks shipped, I picked up over a $100 worth of shirts. And I was able to grab a birthday present for my bro which he says he loves.

On a side note, I'd like to thank Napoleon for lending me his bed to take these pictures. It was very helpful.

MIICCCHHHAAAA!!!!!

OK let's make this a weekend of blog posts. I'm going to be sitting at this computer the whole weekend anyway, so why not just throw in a bunch of blog posts. I'll try and limit the Danzig shirt posts to just one gigantic one. So much insane danzig related stuff came in it's just stupid. ok lets get started...

Integrity's Those Who Fear Tomorrow from 93 got repressed by Organized Crime Records I still can't believe I got the most limited version considering I ordered way late, and there was only 200 pressed. This is the rarest one correct? Well either way I'm pretty happy. CSM did an excellent job on this release.

The gatefold has this cool painting on the inside. Was this on the original? Never had the original pressing of this thing.

This is my favorite Integrity record. No doubt about it. I don't think I can get into the new Integrity. But this record I've been playing for 15 years. Never gets old. Good way to get the juices flowing at work. Gets me in the mood to yell at people. Love that.

Danzig III How The Pink Kills It

Been a while since I posted. Definitely need to step it up. Got big things working so I'm slacking a bit. But I'll make it happen. Let's start with this incredible shirt that came in the mail today.

Danzig - How the Gods Kill tour shirt. What a sick looking shirt. I mean damn, this thing is so nice. It's extremely tough to find a shirt that's this old and still in good enough shape to wear. This is one of them that's good enough.

That print is totally mint too.

Something very cool happened with this shirt. In the auction they didn't have a pic of the back. Now I knew this was a tour shirt, but I wasn't sure if it had all the dates on it as well. So when I got it, I was pretty damn happy.

Something of note on a personal level. Tom and I made the decision to give it one more year in the current place. We got something big working for LP. I didn't think we were going to attempt another monster addition to this site but it seems as though we are. When I have more info I will post it here.

Also since I have like a million prints, I've started to hang them up in this place. Maybe I do a post showing everything I have up. Could be fun. OK later.
